Who 's behind Streets of Oslo: Part three

What do you do at Streets of Oslo?

  • I am the CEO and designer here at Streets, so I do a little bit of everything. I'm def not bored on the job.

What book are you reading now?

  • I'm reading Sapiens by Yuval Harari, not that I read all too much.. but I'm lucky that you asked me while I'm in a good reading phase! The book is great though, It's all about the future of mankind. Pretty big picture philosophical stuff, but written in a very understandable and interesting way. Highly recommend it.

What is the last song you listened to?

  • Plug Walk, Rich The Kid. I'm pretty big on hip hop and trap right now. Occasionally some alternative rock to spice it up.

What's your favorite hobby?

  • Doing nothing at all. Seriously, trying to just chill and do nothing productive. I'm kinda a workaholic so just relaxing in "human mode" is amazing to me. Having a beer with some good friends is also nice. Oh yeah, I should prob say guitar, surfing, and hitting the gym as it says so on my resume.

What’s something that will always be in fashion, no matter how much time passes?

  • Personal style. A fanny pack can look awesome worn right. Or it can look like your dad in the 80s..

If you could travel to any place tomorrow, where would you go?

  • Tokyo, Japan. I need to eat everything there, everything.

What was cool when you were young but isn’t cool now?

  • MTV #Music Television. #NoNotYouVevo.

The India trip 2018 - a recap

First-hand experience is the best experience. That's why Ademir, Shahabaz, and me flew down to India this month to meet our current and possible new suppliers.

Besides learning more about how and where our new products will be made, we also enjoyed experiencing the local hospitality and friendliness.

Despite a tight agenda, we had some nice team bonding time with a lot of funny stories. It was a welcomed change of scenery with new energy for Streets of Oslo!

We can definitely say that we took more back with us than we came with. And we are looking forward to a new line of products.

Thanks for having us, India!

How I use my Ryggsekk Original

Even before we started selling the Ryggsekk Original, I was using one of our early samples daily. I couldn't wait!

The more I wear it, the more it becomes my own. Now it feels like the leather became slightly darker, which I personally like very much.

I use it daily, because it fits so well to what I need to carry daily - laptop, charger, mouse, lunch package, gloves, beanie, and my coffee mug - to the university and to work. And seeing people on the streets looking after the bag is a nice little plus, too :-)

Even though I never take extra care when putting it down on the ground in rainy or snowy weather, I am just as happy with the look and feel as at the beginning. Scratches actually don't seem like scratches. It's difficult to explain, but it's like the leather stays "alive".

Carbon Fund

We at Streets of Oslo know that fashion creates pollution. The production and transport of any product makes an impact on the environment.

We would like to reduce our impact and are therefor donating 5% of our profits from every sale to the Environmental Defence Fund.

We choose EDF as they have an amazing history of solving huge environmental problems, and because of their big reach and broad spectrum of targeting areas.

Check em out!

Hand-crafted, leather-made, classic lace-up shoes.

Norwegian Streetwear

Streetwear is a style of fashion usually reserved for hip-hop centered culture. It is a bold statement with roots in surf and skate culture but has recently grown into haute couture as well. Can it be something different still? We at Streets of Oslo think it can and this is our take.

We call our style Norwegian Streetwear due to our visuals, which focuses on comfort and urban culture. What sets us apart from ‘traditional’ streetwear is our formal approach to it, we believe in a sleeker, and more neutral design palette. Our ‘Scandinavian simplicity’ approach to streetwear, we think is a perfect bridge between the street and the formal.

So yes, Norwegian streetwear is a thing, and it’s awesome!

Hello world!

We are live, commencing awesomeness!

Streets of Oslo has been our passion for the last year, and now we are ready to celebrate!

We are celebrating allot of things. Launching a fashion and lifestyle brand, and our website, the hire of our new amazing social media expert Natalia Barbin (Psst she is also an awesome DJ, check her out), and finally... season two of Stranger Things!

No that was not it... Oh yeah, our first ever product Ryggsekk Original!

Join us for the party! Come grab a drink, get some good vibes from our DJ’s GoldShot, Goodnight, and NataliaBarbin.

And if three DJ’s isn’t enough to spruce up an otherwise boring Thursday evening, immerse yourself in artwork from the talented Suzannah Øistad, who will be having a mini exhibition at our party!
